As a final-year diploma student in Integrative Psychotherapy in the UK, specialising in Humanistic (including Existential & Gestalt),  Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Transactional Analysis (TA) approaches, with a personal passion for deepening my expertise in stress and anxiety, my own experiences with these challenges profoundly shape my journey as a coach and future therapist. For years, I’ve navigated specific phobias—acrophobia (fear of heights) and gephyrophobia (fear of driving over bridges)—alongside Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD). These manifest as intense physical reactions, such as a racing heart and emotional overwhelm, including dread when approaching high bridges or persistent worry about life’s uncertainties, often leading to avoidance behaviours that limit my daily life, like rerouting trips or declining travel opportunities. GAD fuels a constant undercurrent of rumination, disrupting sleep and focus. With over 20 years of coaching experience using mindfulness, breathwork, and meditation, I’ve cultivated resilience and moments of calm, yet these haven’t entirely prevented panic attacks for stubborn fears. My training in CBT and Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT), complemented by Humanistic and other perspectives, has equipped me with tools like cognitive restructuring and empathic exploration, offering clarity but not always overriding ingrained fear responses. This humbling realisation—that expertise doesn’t erase vulnerability—deepens my empathy for clients, a theme I explore in my books, which detail my transformative journey following a life-altering car crash and offer strategies for mind-body wellbeing and overcoming stress and anxiety.

Vedic philosophy’s influence transcends religious boundaries, deeply impacting Indian culture across art, music, literature, and ethics. Many festivals throughout India are rooted in Vedic traditions, emphasizing community, gratitude, and reverence for nature. One personally significant event for me was the 2018 Maha Shivratri at Sadhguru’s Isha Yoga Centre in Coimbatore, where 200,000 people gathered. We danced all night, and that week, I experienced a rare moment when I got engaged under the gaze of Adiyogi (pictured at the top of the page) — a unique event for a Westerner. We also meditated in the Dhyanalinga, a profound meditative space that transcends specific beliefs or rituals. This powerful energy form allowed us to experience life more fully, astonishing us with improved clarity, as we could read the small labels on the hotel shampoo bottles, something we hadn’t been able to do before. This was just one of many celebrations I attended across India, where the festivities highlight life’s abundance and interconnectedness, serving as reminders of our shared human journey (Her Existential Odyssey, 2025).

It's the journey not the destination

Five years ago, when I published my first book, I was still deeply immersed in my own Yogic journey. At that time, many readers found my shared practices to be too complex and abstract, particularly if they were not already familiar with Vedic concepts.

Since then, I have experienced significant personal growth, which I discuss in my latest book. This new perspective allows me to highlight the improvements I’ve made in both my mental and physical well-being. As I have deepened my self-awareness and enhanced my understanding of philosophical concepts, I have also been actively pursuing training in counseling and psychotherapy. This ongoing education continues to shape my insights and practices.

My latest work reflects this evolution, bridging the gap between my earlier experiences and the clearer, more accessible insights I can now offer.

My holistic and therapeutic development included the following courses, and serve as part of my ongoing continuous

development, as everything remains a work in progress so I can manage my emotional wellbeing and have a

better understanding of myself, my life and my clients:
